YouTube Allows Creators To Add Shorts Links To Other Videos

The ability to link producers’ Shorts videos to other videos on their channel was recently unveiled by YouTube. Creators of Shorts can now direct viewers to long-form content, new Shorts, live streams, and more with this upgrade.

In the past, URLs could be posted to the comments and descriptions of Shorts. However, YouTube is doing away with this feature, citing a desire to cut down on spam and phishing.

In the desktop version of YouTube Studio, creators can now add a single “related video” link when creating a Short video. Any other video on the same YouTube channel may be found by following this link.

The “related video” feature can be accessed under the Details tab on YouTube Studio’s right sidebar. Any Shorts video—old or new—can be altered to include a link. YouTube recommends using the feature to promote live streams, link numerous Shorts in a series, connect Shorts to long-form videos, and more.
